BRDA × NEPI Rockcastle

What to do when unnecessary equipment lies dormant in shopping center storages, and one cannot in good conscience discard good, still functional items? We have a solution!

At the end of 2023, in collaboration with @NEPI Rockcastle, we managed to clear out the warehouse of Alfa Centrum in Białystok and donated furniture and construction materials from the redevelopment of a service area to foundations, associations, school unions, and a social cooperative. Pro-social cooperation at its best!

We conducted an inventory of materials suitable for reuse, identified potential local recipients, and supported the center’s team in organizing the pickup process.

What have we achieved?

• We completely emptied out the shopping center’s warehouse space,
• we reduced the number of waste containers and, as a result, redevelopment costs,
• over 200 items were saved from landfills, totaling over one and a half tons of preserved, functional items,
• recipients of the furniture included representatives of local non-governmental organizations.

The issue of unused equipment occupying warehouse spaces or left behind by tenants often concerns property managers of properties such as shopping centers or offices. At BRDA, we give a second life to such items, supporting companies in sustainable and socially engaged activities. We do it effectively.
