About the project
OBIEG is an online catalog of furnishings we obtain in vacated office spaces, stores and during demolitions. On the emerging platform, obieg.com.pl, non-profits, schools and social institutions will be able to obtain all the furniture, lamps, carpet flooring, doors and elements they need – for free. Together we are building circular economy in the building sector!
Office fit-out furnishings end up on the landfill far too often. It’s a wonderful resource we cannot get back.
- 500 mln tons: this is the amount of waste that the building and fit-out sector produces annually, spending enormous funds on utilizing stuff. With adequate planning, those resources can be used again.
- 5-10 years: this is the lifespan of office spaces; the lifespan of objects is much, much longer. As a result, high quality furniture, still perfectly usable, is being thrown away, while it could serve new users.
- 130 000 organizations: 6800 schools and 2082 Social Aid Centers work hard all around Poland. They are one of the most poorly financed institutions in the country. Substantial support in the shape of free furniture is a real treasure for them!
We give second life to things. Companies boost their ESG points, organizations get free support. It’s the perfect 2 in 1.
We face the challenges facing the business sector, as well as NGOs and schools. In OBIEG we map renovated and dismantled office spaces, create an inventory of available furniture and we save it from ending up on the landfill by connecting it to new owners. Desks, chairs, lamps, building components end up where they are most needed. In an era, where we try to become more and more mindful about our planet and social engagement, OBIEG is the best solution.
